On October 5, 1961, a new sector, called North Flank–North Extension, was added to the field when the Pan American Petroleum Corporation No. 2C. C. G. Hooks Fee was completed in Basal Frio sands on the north flank of the salt mass. In 1963 the field reported a yield of 169,713 barrels.
